Scott L. Thompson DVM

Scott L. Thompson DVM

Dr. Thompson graduated from Purdue University in 1979 where he earned his BS and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degrees. After graduation, he practiced small animal medicine in Carmel, Indiana from 1979 - 1983. On April 1, 1983 he took over the practice at East Side Animal Hospital from its previous owner (Dr. Edward Weidenbenner). With the help of his wife Beth, his children, a dedicated staff, and a lot of long hours and hard work, he has worked to develop ESAH into a caring, high-quality facility with the mission of helping people and helping pets. Dr. Thompson and Beth currently own four dogs: Lab/chow mix – Smokey, maltese mix – Lucky, long-haired Dachshund – Shiner, and lab/mastiff mix - Mosby. Dr. Thompson loves animals of all types and has a special interest and expertise in Avian and Exotic medicine. Dr. T enjoys life outside of work by exercising, walking his dogs, wood working, and gardening.

Brianna, “Bri,” Practice Manager

Brianna Practice Manager

Bri graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and a minor in Management. She started her career at East Side Animal Hospital in 2007 as a Client Service Representative and became the Practice Manager in 2010. Bri enjoys spending time with the loves of her life, husband Dustin and daughter Harper, plus her close friends and family. She's got her hands full at home with her furry babies, as well: 2 dogs, Memie and Sully, and a cat, Syd-Vicious. A few of her favorite things are traveling, decorating, and trying out new recipes at home. When asked what she likes most about working at ESAH: "I enjoy meeting new clients and patients, as well as, working with our wonderful established clients and patients. It's a great feeling to be part of a team that does everything possible to help patients live long, healthy, and happy lives."

Rachael, Registered Veterinary Technician

Rachael, Registered Veterinary Technician

Rachael graduated from Harrison College in 2013 and immediately started her career here at East Side Animal Hospital. In 2016, Rachael was promoted to become our Lead Registered Veterinary Technician. Here at work, you will find Rachael caring for our hospitalized and surgery patients with a loving hand. Rachael spends a lot of time with and is super close to her family - mom, twin brother, Justin, and younger brother, Kyle. She also has 5 rescued dachshunds at home that take up a lot of her free time. Rachael likes working at East Side because her fellow staff are like her second family!

Kelsie, Registered Veterinary Technologist

Kelsie, Registered Veterinary Technician

Kelsie graduated from Murray State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. Additionally, she is currently working on becoming certified in Canine Rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee and has been working closely with our personal, on-staff Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioners, Dr. Alice Stewart and Stacie Clark, RVT. Outside of work, Kelsie loves playing and watching sports, trying out new baking recipes, and spending time with her family which includes 2 sisters and one brother. When asked what Kelsie enjoys about working at East Side, she replied "I like being able to be an advocate for animals and getting to see them get better after seeing our doctors and staff".

Jessica, Registered Veterinary Technician

Jessica, Registered Veterinary Technician

Jessica attended Murray State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in animal health technology. Jessica started working full time at East Side Animal Hospital in 2007 but has recently moved to part time due to an offer she couldn’t resist—she now works full time at Harrison College teaching in the Veterinary Technology Department! Jessica and her husband, Josh, have a son, Jakob; two dachshunds named Willy and Izzy; and a cat named Syd. Outside of work, Jessica likes to spend time with her family and friends. She also likes to work in her yard and play golf. Jessica says she loves coming to work knowing that she will see and learn something new every day and, of course, she really enjoys seeing all of the cute puppies and kittens!

Kelsey, Veterinary Technician

Kelsey recently earned her Associates in Veterinary Technology from Harrison College here in Evansville and completed a 10-week externship at C.R.O.W. (Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife), located in Sanibel Island, Florida. Kelsey comes from a family of four which includes her loving parents and a twin brother. Kelsey's favorite hobbies include game nights with friends, movie nights with her grandma and mom, and helping out others whenever possible. At East Side, Kelsey enjoys "being able to work with a helpful staff that wants to make a difference in each patient that come through our doors."

Breanna "Bre", Veterinary Technician

Bree, Veterinary Technician

Bre joined East Side Animal Hospital in May of 2017 for her externship through Harrison College’s Veterinary Technology program. Prior to working here, Bre spent 3 ½ years working at a local rescue where she developed her passion for animals into a career. Bre has 3 fur-babies at home: Snicker, a cat that she adopted as a baby kitten, Nikko, an American mutt she adopted during her rescue days, and Boe, a sweet boxer mix. Bre loves working out, hiking with Nikko, and spending time with all of her fur-babies. Looking forward to her future at ESAH, Bre says that she is excited to learn and grow her skills as a veterinary technician in order to help our patients to the best of her abilities.

Macy, Veterinary Technician

Macy, Veterinary Technician

Macy graduated from the SICCM Veterinary Technology program with an Associate’s Degree in 2017. Shortly thereafter, she came to Evansville and joined our team at East Side Animal Hospital. Born and raised on a dairy farm with 300 cows, Macy has always worked with animals. Family is very important to her so in her free time she loves spending time with her four siblings and extended family. Some of Macy's favorite activities include showing and exhibiting her cows at various shows and fairs, relaxing and watching Netflix/movies, and listening to music. Macy said about working at East Side: "I'm excited to work with experienced staff in a great environment with friendly patients and clients. This hospital will give me new experiences that I haven' t had with small animals. I look forward to learning as much as I can."

Katelyn, Client Service Representative

Katelyn, Client Service Representative

East Side Animal Hospital is Katelyn's first job in the animal field but she has grown up around and cared for animals her entire life. Katelyn's family consists of her husband, Nathan, and their beautiful baby boy, Waylon. Furry family members include 2 dogs (Colt, a Yorkie, and Lady, a Bloodhound) though Katelyn would have more if her husband would let her. Some of Katelyn's favorites include working out, watching/playing sports (football and basketball are her favorite) and of course, spending time with her little family plus her sister and niece. Katelyn enjoys working at East Side because of the positive atmosphere, enjoys talking to our clients and of course being around all of the sweet patients that come in!

Morgan, Client Service Representative

Morgan, Client Service Representative

Morgan grew up on a dairy farm in northern Michigan. On her farm, her family had cows, barrel horses, and thoroughbreds so she has grown up with a huge passion for animals (especially large animal!). She knew this was the field she wanted to work in when she started helping their family veterinarian during his farm calls at their farm. Morgan, her husband (Kyle), and their American Bulldog ( Bella) recently moved to Evansville and bought their first house together. In her spare time, Morgan enjoys fostering pets for local rescues, horseback riding, live horse racing at Ellis Park, baking, and sewing. What does Morgan like most about working at ESAH? "I love the great atmosphere. It's very welcoming and enjoyable. Everyone always has a smile on their face! I also love how much they love and care for their clients and patients!"

Elizabeth “Beth,” Housekeeper/Animal Caretaker

Beth Housekeeper/Animal Caretaker

Beth has worked at East Side Animal Hospital since 1994 and is an integral part of our organization. She has three brothers, one dog, and four cats. In her spare time, Beth enjoys reading, running, walking her dog, and weaving. Beth’s favorite thing about working at East Side Animal Hospital is working with the animals, which she does very well!

Elliot, Animal Caretaker

Elliot, Animal Caretaker

Elliot joined East Side Animal Hospital during his sophomore year of high school. He’s always had an interest in working with animals and hopes to be a veterinarian one day. Elliot has learned from his family the importance of hard work and dedication and one of his greatest accomplishments is achieving the second-highest percentile on his PSAT scores. Elliot recently adopted his very own kitten, Achilles, from our Caring Heart Orphanage and is loving the new responsibility he is learning through taking care of her. When he’s not working, attending school, or spending time with his family and pets, Elliot enjoys playing video games and playing/watching a variety of sports. Elliot hopes to gain experience in caring for and helping animals during his time at ESAH, in order to build upon his future in animal care.

Travis is currently in college studying health and biology courses and plans on graduating in the near future with a Bachelor's Degree. Throughout his life, Travis has owned a wide variety of animals – everything from dogs to turkeys! Travis' favorite free time activities include video games, movies, cards, walking, and writing. What does Travis like best about working at East Side Animal Hospital? "Making a difference for animals and people."
