Dr Scott L. Thompson
Dr. Thompson graduated from Purdue University in 1979 where he earned his BS and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. After graduation, he practiced small animal medicine in Carmel, IN from 1979 - 1983. On April 1, 1983 he took over the practice at East Side Animal Hospital from its previous owner (Dr. Edward Weidenbenner). With the help of his wife Beth, his son Brett, his daughter Brianna, and a dedicated staff, he has worked to develop ESAH into a caring, high quality facility with the mission of helping people helping pets
We have an outstanding and well-trained staff. We strongly believe in continuing education therefore we provide monthly staff meetings as well as continuing education stipends for all the staff members to help them keep current and further their knowledge.

Angela, a Newburgh native, graduated from Purdue University in 1991 with an Associate's degree in Applied Sciences in Veterinary Technology. As a long standing team member, she has been working at East Side Animal Hospital since 1992. She stays busy with her cat Penelope and dogs Abella, Millie, and Princess Chanel. Angela also enjoys remodeling and decorating her home, reading, traveling, and gardening. At East Side Animal Hospital she really likes working in surgery, doing dental procedures and caring for sick pets.

Jessica is a Registered Veterinary Technician at East Side Animal Hospital. She attended Murray State University where she earned her Bachelors degree in Animal Health Technology. She has been working here since 2007. Jessica lives in Sommerville with her husband Josh, son Jakob, dachshund Willy, and their outside cat Syd. Outside of work Jessica likes to spend time with her family and friends. She likes to work in the yard and has recently started playing golf. Jessica loves coming to work knowing that she will see and learn something new everyday and of course, she really enjoys seeing all of the puppies and kittens!

Stacie started working at East Side Animal Hospital in 2008 after completing her degree at the Veterinary Technical Institute in Indianapolis, IN. She has two golden retievers, Kase and Diesel, one cat Heath, and a wonderful husband Kyle. In her spare time Stacie enjoys camping, having friends over, knitting, and horseback riding. When asked what she likes most about working at East Side Animal Hospital she responds "Everyone I work with is great! East Side Animal Hospital has only the best care in mind for pets and their human counter parts."

Hannah graduated from Southridge High School in 2002. She then received as Associates degree of Applied Sciences in Veterinary Technology from Morehead State University in 2005. Hannah and her husband Matt live in Huntingburg, IN with their Pit-bull mix Dexter, chocolate Lab Jake, Chow mix Sadie and cat Skippy. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, playing with her pets, and shopping. Hannah likes working at East Side Animal Hospital because of the dedication the entire staff has to the clients and their pets and providing them with the best care possible.

Kelly has been with East Side Animal Hospital since 2002. Kelly started as a Client Service Representative and has sharpened her knowledge and skills through the years in order to become a proficient Veterinary Assistant. Kelly graduated from Castle High School and attended USI where she played soccer. She and her husband Roger have two boys Jakob and Jarid and two dogs Sylkie a Weimaraner, and Lexie a Chocolate Labrador. The Buchanan family likes to spend time outdoors, camping, traveling and hanging out with their friends and family.
Working at East Side Animal Hospital allows Kelly to do what she loves, working with and helping animals and also educating their owners on how to care for and prevent illnesses in their pets.

Samantha's interest in animal health started with an internship she did at the Audubon Animal Hospital in Owensboro, KY. She graduated from Apollo High School and attended University of Southern Indiana. Samantha has been with us since Jan. 2008. She is married and has a daughter that was born in April 2009. She also has a Yorkshire terrier named Chloe. Samantha loves spending time with her family especially going to the park on pretty days, playing golf, shopping, and anything with her daughter. She likes working with such a friendly staff to provide great care for our patients and having the opportunity to learn something new everyday.

Caitlyn is currently working on her Bachelors degree in Animal Products at Purdue University. Throughout her educational endeavors she has been working at East Side Animal Hospital seasonally since 2003. Caitlyn has six crazy cats named Tabs, Fester, Lady, Edgar, Emily, and KitKat. She enjoys camping and doing anything outdoors. The thing that Caitlyn enjoys most about working at East Side Animal Hospital is having the opportunity to help ill animals recover and interacting with carious types of animals on a daily basis.

Bri graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Management. She has worked at East Side Animal Hospital since 2007. Bri enjoys spending time with her friends and family as well as her cat Syd and dogs Memie and puppy Silas. When asked what she likes most about working at East Side Animal Hospital she says, "I enjoy meeting new clients and patients as well as working with our wonderful established clients and patients. It's a great feeling to be part of a team that does everything possible to help patients live long, healthy and happy lives."

With over four years of experience in the Veterinary field, Michelle joined our team in 2008. She is happily married to her husband Brian. There are four children in the family Sydney, Jay and the twins Tyler and Taylor. Michelle has a horse named Saban, A Borzoi named Armani, and four cats Purelli, Carmella, Marciella, and Cattor. She enjoys horseback riding, spending time with her kids and pets, drag racing, Denver Broncos football, and shopping for shoes. She says "I really enjoy working with people and their pets and watching all of the kittens and puppies grow up".

Linda attended the Deaconess School of Nursing. She has had all different kinds of pets all of her life and taught at a preschool for over 12 years. With her background she fits right in with the fast pace of our animal hospital. Linda is married with three sons, a stepdaughter two dogs, three cats, a Quaker parrot and a gerbil. In her spare time Linda enjoys sewing, crafts, playing with her critters, entertaining friends and serving as Clerk at Burdette Park BMX track. Linda's response to why she likes working at East Side Animal Hospital is, "It gives me the opportunity to work with both people and pets which are the things I enjoy most. I am constantly learning new things, which helps me in my job as well as taking care of my own pets. I also have great co-workers!"

Beth has worked at East Side Animal Hospital since 1994 and is an integral part of the organization. She has three brothers, two dogs, and four cats. In her spare time Beth enjoys reading, running, walking the dogs, and weaving. Beth's favorite thing about working at East Side Animal Hospital is working with the animals, which she does very well!

Lauren started working at East Side Animal Hospital during the summer of 2009. She has experience volunteering at both the Posey County and Vanderburgh County Humane Societies. Lauren enjoys running, partaking in races like the Evansville Half-Marathon, spending time with her dog Ajax and her two cats, she likes cooking, getting together with her family and friends, volunteering, watching football and going to games. At work she enjoys seeing the animals faces everyday and being able to give them love and attention.

Ryan has always been interested in the veterinary field and decided to join our team, in June 2010, to further her interest and gain some experience in a job field that she enjoys. In her spare time, Ryan enjoys music, cars, and being with her family. In June 2009, Ryan had a son, named Shane, who is her pride and joy. She also enjoys spending time with her two cats, Haiku and Phil. Ryan loves working at East Side Animal Hospital because of the animals and work environment!

Andrea started working at East Side Animal Hospital in early 2010 but has worked on and off in the veterinary field for 15 years as a receptionist and vet assistant. In the past, Andrea has dedicated her time to the Vanderburgh Humane Society and greyhound rescue in which she fostered pregnant cats and their kittens and fostered retired greyhounds taking the time to place them all in loving homes. Andrea's greatest accomplishments are her three children: daughters Jamie and Allie, and son Nicholas. Other members of her "family" include her 2 cats "Dash" and "Rudy" and her dog "Buddy", a Sheltie. When she is not spending time with her children, Andrea spends her free time camping, fishing, and horseback riding. Andrea chose a career with East Side Animal Hospital because she is "very passionate with all animals. They hold a special place in my heart!"

Kalyn is currently in high school but hopes to continue her veterinary experience into college and eventually make it a career. She lives with her mother, Debra, step-father Glenn, and half bother Liam here in Evansville. Kalyn enjoys a variety of art related projects, especially painting. She also likes to spend time with friends, her pets, or playing volleyball. Kalyn has also fostered animals in the past. Kalyn says "what I like most about working at East Side Animal Hospital is the hands on experience with animals. This job has encouraged me to one day have my very own animal hospital."

Being employed at East Side Animal Hospital has been Colleen’s first experience working around animals but she has always been an animal lover. Throughout her life, Colleen has owned many animals and hopes that this job will lead to her find a new “furry friend” to bring into her home. Colleen’s parents, Lori and Larry, have one other child, a son, named Stephen. In her free time, Colleen loves to draw, paint, and make her own jewelry. She also has a love for music and enjoys going to concerts. Colleen looks most forward to reconnecting with animals while working here at ESAH!
