In-House Veterinary Lab
Presents Life-Saving Opportunities

Veterinary Diagnostics To ensure the well-being of your companion animal, time is of the essence. If your pet is struck by sudden illness or injury, we want to find a diagnosis as quickly as possible so we can begin treatment of the condition immediately. Unfortunately, the longer your beloved friend has to wait for answers and solutions, the worse the problem may become. East Side Animal Hospital offers you convenience, comfort, and the most cost-effective approach to promptly obtaining such answers and solutions right here in Evansville, Indiana: in-house veterinary diagnostics, animal X-rays (including digital dental X-rays), and pet ultrasound.

In-House Veterinary Diagnostics

Whether for routine wellness and preventive care or for an urgent, life-threatening medical problem, our in-house diagnostics center allows us to provide you with quick and timely evaluations followed by immediate answers to your pet’s medical needs. Our diagnostic capabilities include laboratory testing that ranges from annual heartworm testing, intestinal parasite screening, and general wellness blood work to more comprehensive blood work for sick or injured pets. Using the latest and most up-to-date equipment, we can also perform blood pressure screenings as well as glaucoma tests. In the event of unmanageable glaucoma that can no longer be medically treated, we offer pet enucleation services (removal of the eye) along with animal prosthetic eye implants that create a natural appearance.

Digital Dental Radiography

Often referred to as radiographs, X-rays provide us with clear, quality images of bones, joints, organs, and teeth. These internal pictures of your pet then assist in our diagnostic capabilities.

We offer pet digital dental radiography to help us diagnose oral conditions. It is our goal to prevent or catch early signs of such problems with bi-annual check-ups. However, if your pet develops dental disease and needs a teeth cleaning or oral surgery, the digital dental radiography helps us identify disease below the gum line that would otherwise be missed. Digital dental radiographs allow for quicker findings at a reduced cost, resulting in less exposure to X-rays and less time under anesthesia, as well as significant cost savings to clients.

Pet Ultrasound

Pet ultrasound, sonograms, and echocardiograms (heart ultrasound) refer to an imaging method utilizing sound waves as a means of reflecting tissue into a picture of an internal point of interest on the body. We use pet ultrasound for an assortment of situations including pregnancy confirmation; abdomen, heart, and kidney inspection; and even mass or tumor assessments.

“After that visit, my wife had all of our dogs’ medical records transferred to East Side Animal Hospital and since then, we have had our Russian Borzoi, Leena, in for a pulled shoulder muscle. The experience was the same as before—very professional and friendly.”
